7 Habits and me

I was introduced to Dr Covey’s philosophies some years ago and it all made so much sense to me the impact was immediate and significant for me.
I was able to reframe situations and take control of areas of my life I had previously not considered possible.

I’m going to share the top level 7 habits with you here along with a brief explanation of each one for context.

I would highly recommend you to either read his book or listen to it using audibles or similar services and hope that the impact is equally profoundly positive for you too.

1. Be proactive

Focus and act on what you can control and influence instead of what you can’t.

2. Begin with the end in mind

Define clear measures of success and a plan to achieve them.

3. Put first things first

Prioritize and achieve your most important goals instead of constantly reacting to urgencies.

4. Think win-win

Collaborate more effectively by building high-trust relationships.

5. Seek first to understand, Then to be understood

Influence others by developing a deep understanding of their needs and perspectives.

6. Synergize

Develop innovative solutions that leverage differences and satisfy all key stakeholders.

7. Sharpen the saw Increase motivation, energy, and work/life balance by making time for renewing and refreshing activities.

Your power lies in your ability to recognise that your strength exists where you can control that which is within your gift and that you can choose how you respond to a situation when you cannot control the situation itself.
